UCN spectroscopy has been used to limit scenarios including dark energy, chameleon fields, and new short range forces
2.
The sum of long and short range forces gives rise to a minimum, referred to as " Van der Waals minimum ".
3.
When particles get too close they are expelled by a short range force into new waves / sub-swarms, avoiding thus a complete convergence.
4.
This fitting, however, is very sensitive to where the cut-off between long and short range forces is chosen, causing results of questionable accuracy.
5.
Although Chiral Color has presently no experimental support, it has the " aesthetic " advantage of rendering the Standard Model more similar in its treatment of the two short range forces, strong and weak interactions.
